<image:caption>CLINIC ADMINISTRATOR Peyton is a former medical social worker turned full-time toddler wrangler. She received her master’s degree in social work from the University of Southern California in 2017, where she developed a passion for helping people continually improve their physical, spiritual, and emotional well-being so that they may continue doing (or find a way back to) all of the things they love and that bring meaning to their lives. She deeply believes in building communities that help individuals pour into themselves and that the world is strengthened by encouraging people to care for themselves holistically. Her work is rooted in the chronic illness community, but after becoming a mother herself, has evolved to have a special focus on women’s health. Her job at Empower Physical Therapy is to help individuals get the help they need by connecting them with a pelvic floor therapist at Empower, build community by reaching out to local business that are also passionate about women’s health, and provide support to the therapists at Empower through schedule management. In her free time, you’ll likely find Peyton out in her garden, caked in mud and with a kid on her hip. She loves the beach, her Peloton, and her husband and two littles who make every day a lot more fun (and a little more chaotic). If you have general questions about Empower Physical Therapy, please reach out to Peyton!</image:caption>

<image:title>Our Team - Marisa Hackathorn PT, DPT DOCTOR OF PHYSICAL THERAPY, PELVIC FLOOR PT</image:title>
<image:caption>Marisa Hackathorn, PT, DPT, is a pelvic floor physical therapist with seven years of experience in physical therapy, including a strong foundation in acute care at a local trauma hospital. Her clinical expertise is matched by a deep personal connection to pelvic health, shaped by her own experiences through pregnancy, childbirth, and recovery. After facing significant pelvic pain during her first pregnancy, Marisa discovered the life-changing benefits of pelvic floor physical therapy. Armed with this knowledge, she approached her second pregnancy with a proactive, evidence-based mindset — significantly reducing pain and preparing for a smoother labor and delivery. Inspired by this transformation, she became a passionate advocate for early postpartum rehabilitation. Following her own deliveries, Marisa pioneered a first-of-its-kind program at her hospital, bringing rehab services directly to mothers immediately after cesarean births — a groundbreaking initiative designed to support recovery during those critical first days. Now transitioning into pelvic health, Marisa specializes in treating pelvic pain, incontinence, painful intercourse, prenatal and postpartum care, and post-surgical recovery. She is currently completing her certification as a Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist (PCES), further expanding her ability to provide thoughtful, comprehensive care. Marisa creates a warm, inclusive space for patients of all backgrounds, empowering them with the tools, knowledge, and support they need to feel strong, capable, and in control of their bodies. When she is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her 2 sons, her husband and goldendoodle. They love to explore local coffee shops, go on hikes, travel to national parks, visit family in Ohio and workout together. She looks forward to working with you!</image:caption>

<image:caption>DOCTOR OF PHYSICAL THERAPY, PELVIC FLOOR PT Ivy is a Doctor of Physical Therapy, pelvic floor specialist, prenatal and postnatal exercise expert, trained birth doula, and mother of two daughters and currently pregnant with her third baby. In graduate school, she developed a passion for treating women struggling with pelvic floor dysfunction. After receiving her doctorate in physical therapy at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences, she went on to pursue further education for pelvic floor treatment through the Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute. She founded Empower Physical Therapy after the birth of her first child, when she experienced firsthand how limited and fragmented postpartum care can be. That experience fueled her mission to create a space where women feel supported, understood, and empowered throughout every stage of womanhood. At Empower, Ivy is passionate about providing high-quality, evidence-based care for individuals navigating pelvic health challenges utilizing her skills in myofascial release, joint mobilization, trigger point release, and therapeutic exercise — from pregnancy and postpartum recovery to prolapse, incontinence, and beyond. Her approach goes beyond just treating symptoms; she focuses on the whole person, recognizing the physical, emotional, and lifestyle factors that influence healing and well-being. She strives to treat the whole patient as she feels that consideration of their overall health and well-being is an important part of the rehabilitation process. Outside the clinic, Ivy enjoys strength training, reading a good book, spending time outdoors and by the ocean and exploring new places with her family!</image:caption>

These issues are often multifactorial and a pelvic floor therapist can help you take a holistic approach to your recovery. <image:title>Services - High quality, personalized, one-on-one care</image:title>
<image:caption>Empower Physical Therapy is out of network with all insurance companies. Why? Because this allows us to deliver a higher standard of care without the limitations of insurance. Better treatment and more time with your therapist (without aides/techs/or assistants) means you get better, faster, within less visits than your average clinic. You can also use your HSA/FSA card or we can provide you with a superbill you can send over to your insurance for possible reimbursement. Additionally, you have the right to a “good faith estimate”. We list our cost for services to be in compliance with this act, however you may request a price sheet sent directly to you at any time.</image:caption>

<image:title>About (Copy) - Peyton Fischer AADMIN + CLIENT HAPPINESS OFFICER</image:title>
<image:caption>Peyton is a former medical social worker turned full-time toddler wrangler.

<image:caption>Felice is a California native, receiving her doctorate in Physical Therapy at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. With over a decade of experience in orthopedic care, she founded an interest in the specialty of pelvic floor physical therapy after her own pregnancies and postpartum experiences. Shortly after the birth of her first child, she initiated specialty coursework through the Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute. Caring for patients with pelvic floor dysfunction has become a passion with a desire to debunk fear, encourage movement and help patients regain joy through return to activity. She strives to create an environment where she can hold nonjudgmental space for healing during the rehabilitation process. Using an approach of treating the whole person, she combines functional assessment with manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercise, and mindfulness to achieve optimal results to help you reach your goals. When outside of the clinic Felice can be found spending time with her family outdoors, cooking and baking. Personal interests include yoga, Pilates and running. She hopes to connect with you soon!</image:caption>

<image:title>About (Copy) - CRYSTAL HEATH PT, DPT PELVIC FLOOR THERAPIST</image:title>
<image:caption>Crystal was born and raised in San Diego. She spent 3 years in Chicago to complete her Doctorate of Physical Therapy Degree at Northwestern University. From the day she was introduced to pelvic floor therapy, she instantly felt passionate about and called to help women with pelvic floor dysfunction. She dedicated the entirety of her physical therapy career to pelvic health learning through the Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute and has been treating pregnant and postpartum mothers in-home and in the clinic. Crystal believes that women should feel empowered by the miracles of their bodies and that all women should have access to the care that they need during adolescence, prepartum, postpartum, menopause and all stages in between. She is passionate about bringing more awareness to the community that pelvic health physical therapy should be standard of care --- just as standard as physical therapy is following a knee surgery. Crystal utilizes a manual therapy approach to treatment including myofascial release, connective tissue massage, trigger point release in addition to nervous system down training and breathing exercises. She loves to collaborate with other skilled holistic providers and believes that having a healing team can be important for many patients. Crystal is hopeful to eventually teach and mentor future PT’s that want to join this fulfilling career. There needs to be more pelvic floor PTs in the world! In her free time, she enjoys hiking, playing soccer, pottery, traveling and spending time with her new golden retriever pup, Luna</image:caption>
