Why We Started
Empower Physical Therapy is a pelvic floor physical therapy clinic serving women throughout San Diego. Through individualized care, hands-on treatment, therapeutic exercise, and education, we help women feel confident and supported throughout every stage of womanhood.
Founded by Ivy Colbert, Empower Physical Therapy was born from a passion for improving women's healthcare and a firsthand understanding of the challenges many women face after childbirth. Following the birth of her first child, Dr. Ivy experienced how limited and fragmented postpartum care can be, inspiring her to create a practice where women receive the dedicated support, education, and personalized treatment they deserve.
Today, our mission remains the same: to provide compassionate, evidence-based care in a welcoming environment where women feel equipped to thrive during every season of life.
IVY COLBERT
PT, DPT, PCES
DOCTOR OF PHYSICAL THERAPY, PELVIC FLOOR PT
Ivy is a Doctor of Physical Therapy, pelvic floor specialist, prenatal and postnatal exercise expert, trained birth doula, and mother of two daughters — currently pregnant with her third baby. In graduate school, she developed a passion for treating women struggling with pelvic floor dysfunction, and after receiving her doctorate from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences, pursued further education through the Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute.
She founded Empower Physical Therapy after the birth of her first child, when she experienced firsthand how limited and fragmented postpartum care can be — fueling her mission to create a space where women feel supported, understood, and empowered throughout every stage of womanhood.
At Empower, Ivy is passionate about providing high-quality, evidence-based care for individuals navigating pelvic health challenges — from pregnancy and postpartum recovery to prolapse, incontinence, and beyond — utilizing her skills in myofascial release, joint mobilization, trigger point release, and therapeutic exercise. Her approach goes beyond treating symptoms; she focuses on the whole person, recognizing the physical, emotional, and lifestyle factors that influence healing and well-being.
Outside the clinic, Ivy enjoys strength training, reading a good book, spending time outdoors and by the ocean, and exploring new places with her family!

CAMRYN EARLEY
PT, DPT
DOCTOR OF PHYSICAL THERAPY, PELVIC FLOOR PT
Camryn grew up in Orange County, where a childhood filled with surfing, hiking, snow sports, and endless adventures with her family shaped her love for movement and an active life. That foundation followed her south to San Diego, which she has proudly called home for over eight years.
From a young age, Camryn knew she wanted a career built around helping people understand and trust their bodies again. That passion led her to San Diego State University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology before completing her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. Along the way, she discovered her calling in pelvic health and pediatric care—two areas she believes deserve far more attention because of the profound impact they can have on quality of life.
Camryn specializes in pelvic floor physical therapy for women navigating pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and every stage beyond, as well as pelvic health care for children and adolescents. She believes every stage of life brings unique challenges, and her goal is to create a space where patients feel heard, supported, and empowered with the knowledge and tools to confidently return to the activities they love.
Outside the clinic, you'll likely find Camryn at the beach, exploring new hiking trails, traveling, or spending time with friends and family. For Camryn, great pelvic health care is about more than treatment; it is about making sure every person who walks through the door leaves with real answers, a clear plan, and someone genuinely in their corner. She is honored to meet patients in some of the most meaningful seasons of their lives and she would love to be a part of what comes next for you.
Empowering women through every stage of womanhood.
